Myanmar Yellow Pages explains at Press meet

YANGON, 17 Aug points on publishing Myanmar Yellow Pages (MYP) were clarified to the Press at the Mya Yeik Nyo Royal Hotel at 6pm yesterday.

President of the Japan Yellow Pages Ltd(JYP) Mr Takeo Suzuki, who is currently on a visit here, Managing Director of the Myanmar Yellow Pages U Thein Zaw Oo, Senior mediamen and reporters Agency (Internal) and newspapers were present.

Myanmar Yellow Pages Managing Director U Thein Zaw Oo first presented a brief history of Yellow Pages publications. He then touched upon the plan to publish Myanmar Yellow Pages. He said that Yellow Pages publications have to get themselves registered together with their trade marks in the respective countries and the trade mark of Myanmar Yellow Pages is 'Walking Fingers' (turning over the pages to find the name, address and details of a company or business one wants to know). He added that Myanmar Yellow Pages is for household, office and commercial use.

President of Japan Yellow Pages Ltd Mr Takeo Suziki then recounted his experiences in publishing JYP and his plans to assist and extend co-operation in MYP and other fields of business in Myanmar.

MYP Managing Director U Thien Zaw Oo then answered questions raised by the newsmen.

He said Yellow Pages publications of various countries are kept at his company and his services will be of immense help to manufactures, exporters, importers and other entrepreneurs in Myanmar in their attempts to contact the right customers abroad. He said he has been donating a considerable number of JYPs to the ministries. He said he would like to donate the publications to other ministries. ---MNA

A Brief of IMEX (Myanmar) Co., Ltd.

IMEX (Myanmar) Co., Ltd was founded in 1993 and was legally registered to the Government of the Union of Myanmar as Publisher of the Myanmar Yellow Pages with the international trade mark of the Walking Finger Logo. Therefore we can rightly call ourselves as the owner and authorized publisher of the Myanmar Yellow Pages in Myanmar. The main goal of IMEX was to bring about daily news on Trade business, promoting products and goods, expending company information's for both Insight and Outside Myanmar and also making business connection more accessibly easier through publishing directory.

The Myanmar Yellow Pages

Even though there has been many directories and magazines in the late 90's, there was no International Yellow Pages with the walking finger Logo in some Asian countries and in Myanmar as well. At this point in time, there was no proper business channel or business contact information available. Upon realizing the insufficient and in convenient for such impact, IMEX thus begun its greatest pioneer in providing the latest updated business information through the most imminent tool of all time, the Myanmar Yellow Pages publication. Due to the concerted family effort and with the collaboration with the Japan Yellow Pages Ltd, the first edition of the Myanmar Yellow Pages was published successfully in 1995. Since then, we have been publishing the said directory annually and also extended our business to Asia, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Middle-East, North America, South America, and even to African region. Also Myanmar Yellow Pages has been distributed freely to Government Departments, Organizations, Hotels, Business Firms, Service Industries, Foreign Embassies in Myanmar, Myanmar Embassies abroad, Chambers of Commerce & Industry Worldwide.
